I am a member of the Church of Christ.

If there is a battle comparing the Church of Christ and the Baptist Church, then both sides are comparing to the wrong standard.

The Bible says, "For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you." (2 Corinthians 10:12-13)

Those who try to follow Christ should not compare themselves against others who are also trying to follow Christ. Instead, we should compare the things we teach and practice to the Scriptures! The Bible should be our source for doctrine, correction of error, reproof, and teaching (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

This being said, I do not feel I am at battle with the Baptists. I have many friends and relatives who are Baptist who are good, and moral people who I respect very mutch! I respect the zeal I see in many Baptist churches. I respect the brotherly love I see in many Baptist churches. I respect many things I see in many Baptist churches!

But, there are some things that they teach that conflict with teaching I have found in the Bible. If I love these people, then I should not hesitate to open an honest and frank discussion about these matters. I should not hesitate in comparing anything taught with the scriptures to see if it is true! (Acts 17:11) If I find error taught, this should be brought to light. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) I cannot love someone and leave them in error.

Also, by an open and frank discussion of differences, I may find that I am the one in error. If so, I need to change my mind and practice (repent).

Most things taught in the Church of Christ and most Baptist Churches are the same, but there are some doctrines that contradict. The Bible does not contradict itself, so if we contradict each other, then at least one of us is in error, contradicting the Bible.

We need to go back to the Bible with open and honest hearts to determine which doctrine (if either) is the true.

If our discussion is "I think", "I believe", or "my opinion is..." verses your thoughts, opinions, and beliefs, then we are comparing to the wrong standard. Neither church should mind a comparison to the Bible. In fact, they should insist on it!

The easy answer is false teachers...
2 Peter 2:1-3 (New American Standard Bible) - But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

I am a member of the church of Christ.

All Christians should be comparing themsleves to the Biblical standard & not ANY other human(s). If there are members of the church of Christ and the Baptist church that are comparing themselves to each other, then they are wrong.

there are a number of colorations of the two Baptist and Church of Christ denominations. i've got been a member of church homes in the two categories (Southern Baptist and Christian Church/Church of Christ), and a minimum of in my journey, there replaced into no actual distinction of any sensible effect. whether, the actual concern is whether or no longer you pick to proceed to pursue a relationship along with your boyfriend. if so, you could evaluate asking his mom to articulate the doctrinal transformations she's nervous approximately, then ask your self whether any of those themes are unfavorable on your middle ideals. some communication over an open Bible could help sparkling the air of assumptions.

There is a constant battle among all Protestant denominations because they all follow the ungodly manmade tradition of sola scriptura, which guarantees that their doctrinal beliefs will conflict on every possible point. When you have thousands of different interpretations of the Bible and hundreds of different doctrinal beliefs, yet each denomination insists its particular beliefs are the correct ones, widespread conflict is inevitable. How opposite this is to the stated will of God, "that they all may be ONE".

There is no such battle.

The Church of Christ, doesn't have a choir, no musical instruments. The idea behind the church is they only do those things that the bible speaks on. So they try to follow the bible to the T.

The best thing to do, is to explain to them that God isn't going to send me to hell for having a piano in church on Sunday.

Any religion that truly believes itself to be the one , the only, the true faith in God has only contempt for the nonbelievers, no matter how small the deviation. They will try to convert, subvert and ostracize. They are unable to live and let live in peace. Nearly all of the conflicts in this worlds history stem from or had religious differences as a major element in their occurance.
