i am a sophmore in highschool and i play football and track.
I am very athletic and not bad looking. I talk to many girls but there is this one girl in my art class, she is very shy and dont talk to guys. I only talked to her like once or twice. I always make eye contact with her when i see her and she always brush her hair when she is near me. Should i try to talk to her more? Is the people i sit with scare her cause we always make fun of people. She is only a freshman

i mean all my friends are football players and not all of them all mean. We only make fun of some people. Is it a good idea to go and ask her about our art homework? cause i see her in her locker with her friends in the morning when im sitting with my friends. btw, i seem to make eye contact with her even in lunch becaue she sits next to us.

whenever i look over her direction i see her try to make eye contact with me, but i dont feel comfortable with it.
I m not saying i made eye contact with her on purpose like a perv, it happens accidently all the time.

Funny, I think this was going on when i was in school. There was this really great girl, I knew through her older sister. She was shy, but once you got to know her, she was so much fun. Now she and I are still friends, and we talk more than her sister and i. If you make fun of people, she as a shy person is not going to have anything to do with you, for fear of being set up for a fall. You know, she thinks you are just going to start making fun of her. You need to kick the stupid attitude to the curb and decide if you would rather be friends with people or hurt people. If you really like this girl you are going to have to stop being mean to people. If she is shy, she is not going to have an easy time talking to some jerk. So what if she is a freshman, look at the age difference between your parents or grandparents. Age is not a factor, unless you are of age and she isn't. If you catch her looking at you and she is always making sure she looks nice around you. She may think you are a guy she wants to get to know. But she is not going to take the first step. Try complimenting her on her art, or asking for tips on projects. Aproach her in a nice direction, don't get busted making fun of her.

You may be too young to understand this now but here is what you do:
1. Stop letting her see you hang around your friends
2. Introduce yourself while in Art class i.e "Hey! I've always seen you in class but never knew what your name was, I'm ____", after she replies with her name, your next response should be "Well alright then _______ I'll see you around"
3. When you see her around campus say no more than Hi and smile.
4. Wait about a week and a half and then say "Hi _____, I'm going out with some friends this weekend would you like to come?" She may say something like, "No thankyou" Then you say "Well do you mind if I call you this weekend instead because I really didn't want to go to the movies with those guys anyway" Guaranteed to work!

talk to her!!! playing with her hair is a sign that she is flirting so just make a casual conversation (say something nice about her art work). if she likes you back, she will be eager to talk to you
oh and about the last comment
"she is ONLY a freshman"

first of all i think its immature dat u make fun of her jus cuz shes a freshmen..u were once one too...grow up i dont get it anymore..anyways i think u shud get to kno her more exchange screenames or something den as u get closer nd if u like her start talkin on da fone nd get to hang out nd den if u still feel da same way go for it nd ask her. its okay if u get hurt cuz dats wht makes u stronger.

well its prolly partially becasue she is new to high school. i would talk to her more and maybe stop looking so shallow in front of her..and eventually you guys might be really good friends..

Yes,,, approach her on her turf. Chat to her and ask her about her interests. If she is interesting to you, it does not matter what anybody else thinks.
