With an income like thay you are eligable for some financial assistance. I would suggest going to your town hall and requesting some information on goverment housing, welfare, social security, etc. And as far as the car- I would buy a used car and put it under someone elses car insurance. It will be cheaper that way. Also, some states have car insurance for people of lower income. I would try that before anything else.
Good luck to you

Get a used car. You can find a good deal on some. I don't suggest the buy here pay here places because they will screw you over. But if that is all you can do then that is all you can do. If you buy new your payments will be anywhere from 300 to 400 a month and the car will lose value as soon as you drive off the lot. If you get a used car you can have low payments and get rid of it easily and not have to worry about being upside down in payments and have a payoff balance that is more than what the car is worth. The only way I would buy a new car is if I could afford to put half down and then have 0% for ALOT of months. Unless your aunt is going to buy you a car I would go with used. There is nothing wrong with used at all. I have always driven used vehicles and Ihave never had a problem with it. I drive a 2000 Blazer that is leather and power everything and in perfect condition with low miles and my payments are only 188 a month. Look into used, it is your best bet. I dont know how your credit is but new is really hard to get if you have a ding on your credit or if you dont have any. Good Luck!

In your case a used car would be better, it would be cheaper and if you are using your tax return you can most likely find a place that will sale you your car for your tax return price or cheaper, you just have to bargin them down. Take a man with you to do the shopping and be specific about what you want, and make sure the person you take with you knows something about cars. With the bills that you have the last thing you need is car payments plus insurance. You will have to get insurance, but at least you can avoid the car payment.
My husband and I buy fairly nice used cars at a dealership that also sales new cars. We do not like the hassel of a car payment, because it is real easy to get behind and it does hurt your credit. You are not making enough money to have a car payment and insurance and it would not be a wise choice.
Just my opinion.

Get what you can afford, it is not your aunt that has to pay your bills. If you only have 200 dollars left over you are going to have a hard time making a car payment and insurance. I would get rid of the internet and cable, you shouldn't waste money on these things if you need a vehicle to work.

First of all I think you should maybe consider getting rid of the cable and internet. Then you should get a used car that's been thouroughly checked out by a mechanic. Then maybe in a few months you will be able to afford those things again. Or maybe with a car, you'll be able to get a better job where you make more money.

Get rid of the internet and cable and buy a used car. That way you'll save some money without the Internet and cable bills.

How about you get what you can afford. Instead of people telling you what to do, be a grown up and think for yourself. Its your life, your money, you know what you can afford and what you can't. Maybe grow up first.
