if you get a dewormer from a pet store avoid HARTZ this is a horrible product and can cause major health issues
Best thing to do is call your vet and get a dewormer from them usually the max it should cost you from a vet is 10-12 dollars but you should be able to get it for less than that.

Some of the signs a cat has worms is that she is eating a large amount of food and not gaining weight. She will be eating a lot more but might maintain the same weight or even lose it. Also if she was OK with you touching her belly and now she won't let you near it, that is another sign because the stomach becomes bloated and painful. If you are really worried, I say take her to the Vet. Better safe than sorry!

A fast and simple test; stand your cat in front of you, holding the animal gently by placing a hand below the head on the chest area, now gently place your other hand across and over the back, where the rear legs meet the back, now slowly close this hand so you grip the area above the belly, if your cat becomes distressed and in pain, your cat probably has worms, you dont ned to press hard to do this test, Any proprietory dewormer will clear most cases of worms in less than 2weeks, the worming tablets instructions will give you all the instruction you need with regards to worming needs.

If you can see them, they are either pin worms or tape worms. You could try some of the over-the-counter products at your local pet store, but I will tell you that they are not nearly as effective as a trip to the vet's office.
Every time I have tried to economize in this area, I wind up having to take my cats to the vet anyways. May as well cut to the chase, so to speak and take her to the vet now.
Worms, if left untreated, will eventually cause permanent organ damage.

Yes ma'am, those are worms. There are some over the counter treatments you can find in the pet stores, but I have found them to be a little "spotty" in performance.
Normally the vet will just give you a pill to give the cat, I think it was once a week for a couple weeks.
Anyhow, yes, those are worms, and yes med's are available without a vet, but they don't work as well.

There is a medication you can buy over the counter, but I don't know how good it is. If she's constantly licking her behind, the chances are she has worms. The little white things, i have no idea. But I would certainly take her to the vet asap. It sound serious.

I recommend a vet.But if you cant afford to right now you might want to try D-Worm Liquid Wormer. Also if you have a local pet store some of them will treat worms for you at a much lower cost.Especially if they sell kittens. With indoor cats worms shouldnt be much of a problem they dont have to be treated as often.I know that advantage treats fleas, heatworms and some other things to.

If your cat's stool has white worms in it that look like they are trying to stand up, then it's tape worms. The vet will have to give you medication for it, and it's not very expensive.
Just be sure to take in a fresh stool sample for them to test.

she has worms and you need to take her to the vet to determine what kind of worm it is. It could be from fleas or tapeworms. Find a low cost clinic or call your humane society to find one or if they can treat her there for you. Sometimes it can be done for free. DO NOT wait any longer! If it is not from fleas your cat may die!

You are in luck sweet pea, so many places sell med's for kitty cats with worms.
I used it one weekend when my girl got worms and it worked.
It was by "Hartz" . There are other companies that produce de-wormers too. Use your discretion.
Head on over to Petco, Petsmart, Walmart, Kmart, ect...
NOW! NOW! NOW!
IF it gets worse in the next few days even after using the de-wormer then beg, borrow, steal for the trip to the vet!
