How hard will it be as a class three to re-enlist ?

Disregard the answers above mine, they are clueless. I am a recruiter and you are talking about the Re-enlistment Eligibility (RE) Code. Your friedn got an RE-3. We really don't concern ourselves too much with the RE code since branches like the Marines and Navy started giving people RE-4 for not re-enlisting.

What you need to look at is their separation code/reason. This is a three digit code called separation program designator (SPD) on the bottom of their DD214.

An RE-3 is nto that big of a deal and a waiver to re-enlist can be granted easily, depending upon the SPD Code.

The individual will need to get a RE-3 waiver, may only need a battalion level waiver, may have to go all the way up to DA

once discharged will be hard to re-enlist ,but depends on your separation .

Hopefully impossible. The Army wasted a lot of time and effort on this slug only to have to waste a lot more getting rid of him/her. Why would they want to put themselves through it again?
