The words jungle and forest are treated as synonyms. However, in usage, forest refers to a place defined by many trees, with its own ecology, with or without large animals, while jungle refers to a place with diverse living things and ecology. A forest can be a jungle or just a small patch of land covered with many old trees. Several forest patches may make up a jungle.

Simple!! Jungle is the Hindi word for the English Forest. However we quite often use Jungle in a sinister sense to describe a lawless , chaotic and extremely dense area. The word Jungle has thus aquired negative connotation indeed.

A jungle is bigger and has many more animals and originally a forest had nothing to do with trees - it was an area covered by special hunting laws - you can have a forest with no trees.

A jungle seems to be a tropical tangle of trees and vegetation. A forest seems to be just a place of trees and vegetation closely growing together. Now a rain forest ... You might find looking it up easier - link below.

The jungle is usually associated with hot climates as in tropics, rain forest etc.
A forest is usually associated with cooler climates such as Europe, Canada, and some parts of the US.
Although Hawaii is likely to have a rain forest - that is tropical plants one would expect in the jungle environment. Tropical plants cannot withstand exposure to frost and snow but prefer temperatures warmer, hotter and humid.
Forests in the cooler climate do no have tropical plants and the treas and plants associated with them are usually hardy hardy and tolerant of cooler climates, and can usually withstand frost and snow.
