So I woke up this morning, watched a little tv and went to get ready. I brushed my teeth, got dressed, put on some makeup, etc. Then I washed my hands for a while, took out my contacts, cleaned them with the lens solution, and put them in my eye. My started turning really red and it HURT! I couldn't open them. I had to hold my eyelid open with my hand and take the contacts out with my other hand. Did I do anything wrong? If I didn't specify, what might I be doing wrong? I really don't want to wear my glasses today...

You should put on contact lenses before you put on some makeup.

When you are going to remove your contact lenses, you had better remove makeup first.

Every once in awhile I get this too and I've had contact lenses for almost five years now. Did they burn like crazy when you tried to put them in after you cleaned them.

Personally, I think that it deals with the solution. Because it is saline and that stuff burns. If you have that problem again, I say give your eyes a quick rest and try it again. And of course make sure that you contacts are not backwards, as odd as that sounds. lol.

Don't let vanity get the better of you-you may need to rest your eyes for a while if your contacts hurt. So use your glasses for the meantime.
