YES.

I don't know where these other people got their information, but a pregnant and nursing mother should ALWAYS be fed kitten food. Also, keep her bowl full all the time, don't feed her in meals. She needs to eat as much as she wants to until after the kittens are weaned. You can start offering canned food to the kittens at 5-6 weeks, but don't take them away from mom's milk until at least 8-10 weeks. The longer they spend with mom, the better- she teaches them how to eat and use the litterbox properly. If you can wait until 10-12 weeks to get rid of the kittens, that would be best for everyone. And don't take mom off that kitten food until the 8 week mark for the kittens!!

when a mother cat is nursing it is a good idea to have them on a half kitten and half cat food diet it is not a bad idea to put kitten formula over her food as well--these will give her the vitamins that she is loosing while feeding her little ones. also giving them a calcium supplement is not a bad idea. either

It depends on how old the cat is?
I foster pregnant cats for the RSPCA and a lot of them are quite you, but even the slightly older one we feen the them kitten science plan, because it is very high in nutrients as well as fattening. A pregnant, or nursing mum needs all the extra nutrients it needs, but it's not essential.

no. Feed her the usual cat food, but fortified with vitamins. Of course, when the kittens are about 6 weeks old, start them on soft food. There is a kitten food by purina. Mine all like it.

No, just the usual food. A cat that gives birth is not a kitten anymore.

Its a good idea. They need more fat, protien and vitamins after having little ones.If you want something good but not so pricy try Authority kitten. Its half the cost of Science Diet and its as good. You will have to look at a petco, petsmart or a local petstore for it.

Well, what's done is done, put her on the kitten food now. She needs extra nutrition to make milk for the kittens.

No, she's not a kitten. A good dry and wet cat food will suffice.

no don't giver her kitten food as will not be enough for her to produce milk properly, she will need her normal food that she usually eats but more frequently, you will find she will eat loads now.
