Hair & Scalp- Seborrheic Dermatitis (Severe Dandruff)
Brijette of Bettendorf, Iowa writes us, "My Chiropractor told me to use vinegar on my baby girl's cradle cap. I applied it straight and let it sit for 10 minutes before her bath. I've done this only four times now and her cradle cap is almost gone already!!! Maybe this straight vinegar treatment could work for other scalp problems as well."
Anne writes, " I have dark hair which is very oily. I use apple cider vinegar as a hair rinse, it helps to dissolve buildup, which results in much shinier hair. It has also been very beneficial for my dandruff."
A reader from Boston, MA writes, "I'm so happy that I found this site. I have applied straight apple cider vinegar 30 min before washing my hair and the flaking is almost gone. It has taken five treatments and WOW what a difference. It make my hair shiny too (extra bonus)."
Now science tells us that it promotes blood circulation in the small blood capillaries that irrigate the skin. It is also antiseptic, combating yeasts, viruses, and bacteria that can cause infection.
Apple cider vinegar is rich in alpha-hydroxy acids, helping to dissolve fatty deposits on the skin’s surface and reducing scaly conditions, promoting a softer, smoother appearance. This miracle fluid also regulates the pH of the skin.
You won’t believe how many ways apple cider vinegar can be used to promote healthier skin and hair! Find out some of the couldn’t-be-simpler ways to put it to work for you, below:
Dandruff fighter: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts warm water to balance scalp pH and control dandruff. You can also apply undiluted vinegar to the scalp. Allow it to penetrate, then shampoo with a mild shampoo.

From what people have told me, a dandruff curing shampoo works best. There are two or three different ones that are commonly advertised on the television, like Selson Blue or Pert Plus.

Wash your hair regualry. Use some special dandruff shampoo. You should see some improvements after a little while of doing that. Also try to wash your hair everyday.

ugh i kno how you feel. having black hair and white dandruff isnt exactly fun...but if you shampoo your hair with conditioner every other day because you get it dirty it would be better...if you have your hair clean the dandruff wont show obviously.from stoping your self from embarassment you can also put your hair in a ponytail and people wont really notice..but leaving it down and free while its dirty...people can notice and your hair will get more dirty or possibly get lice..

tell me about it i know..it takes up to two weeks to get rid of dandruff so what u do is wash ur hair with head and shoulders take a paddle brush into shower cause you need to brush shampoo through your scalp to remove the dead skin rinse and repeat and then condition well and let it sit on ur head..it will work ...the trick is you have to brush off the old dead skin but it must be done in the shower followed by repeat washing

Anti dandruff shampoo?
Or baby oil is brilliant. Soak it into your hair and leave it for 30 mins, then rinse it out and comb with fine tooth comb, then go and wash it and comb again.
