Whats the point of dating in highschool if you don't honestly think that your going to marry the person?

well i see it as dating to see what you do like in a guy. Going around to see what kind of people your interested in. Also to prepare you for what will happen after high school. I mean if you graduate and have never dated before then you got out to college or the real world in general, it might be hareder to date for you because you never had befor. Plus you dont want you high school years being completely dull do you? I know with the boyfriends that I have had, no i knew we would never marry one another, but we had alot of fun together anyways. and no not like that either. But all I know is with them its helped me realize what kind of guy i really do want....and I know that it is none of them.Ive been cheated on and all kinds of stuff and yea it does hurt but those kind of thing are just another life lesson, something that I know when I graduate this year I wont be completely prude to the world about. I know if I didnt have those experiences ...I would probably be looking forward to other things out of school that I never got to see. I duont know if any of this helped you but, this is what Ive been through.

experience of interacting - you will start learning your likes and dislikes in a mate - I know it does seem silly cause it is true - but it is part of the process of maturing - I have a friend that has married the first person she dated - she doesn't have a clue about relationships and I see it carrying over to raising her children - I always think it would have been great to go to the prom etc..... with my husband, but we know it is high school and it probably would n't have lasted - the ones that do, usually don't make it - go for the experience, don't let anyone change who you are

Becaues high school gives you the chance to experiment with different types of people.
All dating basically is, is to see what kinds of people you're into. And the qualities others are lacking, you find in others that are like you.
Main point: dating is tricky in high school. Some make it, some don't.
FYI: I'm 16 and I already know who the love of my life is. Even if we break up, I still know in my heart he's the one.

you have to get variety. one of those people may end up with you for a long time and even if you dont, who cares?? the more people you get to know, the more friends you will make. how do you know your not going to marry the person unless you give them a chance. (when you get together with a person, dont think about marriage, just think about having a good relationship with this person and, even if you break up, a potential good friend)

Any relationship you have in your life, helps you grow into the person. They help you to mature in every way. Gosh i know I'm not going to marry my boyfriend from high school but hey, i know he makes me smile when i see him and makes me laugh and overall makes my high school experience better. But i know there is a time when where gonna go our separate ways. You fall in love more than once in your life.

don't date in high school. It's worthless. Kids hormones are high, and they do things that are not appropriate for them. Wait till you are mature, educated and then have a relationship.

im in hiskul and i wud coz i really like the person and im not thinkin bout that far in the future. also not all adults date so they can get married.its also fun to be with sumone u like.
