You believe there is one God - and only one God. Not that you believe in one God, but think it's possible to have more then one - because others think this. You believe there is only one possibility.
Monotheism is often confused for monolarity. Monolarity is when you believe there is more then one God, and all deities are really one God. This is where you can believe personally in one God - but still think that others can worship more then one and be correct also. Because all Gods are one God.
