I want to stay in a motel six in Texas, but I just wonder if 5 of us can stay in one room so as to save some money, even though we tell the reception that we just got 2 people in it.
Thanks

Sure you can do that and it's called defrauding an inn-keeper and keeps along with it a jail sentence and a big fine. Go to the manager and explain and sometimes they'll let you put down sleeping bags for the extra people. Remember rates are determined by the numer of occupancy.

i work in a hotel and people do it all the time. can you have 5 people when you say 2, well of course, but should you? no you shouldnt it is dishonest. but there is really nothing they can do about it, they cant accuse you of something without proof so if i were you i would stay quiet. if you get a complaint on you because of the noise, you will probably get kicked out.

Don't let them see the 5 people in the car!
But yeah I think most people usually leave out a person or two when in a hotel.
5 is a lot so don't trash the room and just be sly....

This is, of course, unethical, but people do it all the time. If you are trying to, be discrete. Have your extra roommates go in the side door rather than going past the front desk, and don't expect them to eat the complimentary breakfast, use the pool, or request additional towels.

Just don't get caught! I did it once. We told them 2 people and it wound up being 6. We got away with it because we were quiet. Be careful but it can be done.

I've done it with six and said two. The receptionist has better things to do than count who is going into what room.

Housekeeping will be able to tell. I wouldn't.
