You see, I wash my face day and night. After I wash it, the blackheads on my nose are gone. But after a few minutes or so, they are there again...I can literally watch the oil on my face "fill in" my pores and turn into blackheads. Help!!! Yes, that I use work, but not for a long time...the blackheads come back almost immediately! Any suggestions? Thanks.

In the morning...I use St.Ives Apricot Scrub (oil/acne prone skin) for blackheads and follow up with a toner afterwards. Then I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer. On some days..I will use Mario Badescu because certain products I bought from them over-dry my face and makes it red.
Towards the middle of the day..my face gets oily again..So I sometimes steam my face. I also use St. Ives Apricot Scrub again (regular one this time)
At night, I use Proactive. I don't use it in the morning..afraid it will overdry my face again.
When I wash my face...I always use warm water and then splash cold water on.
I don't really eat any oily/ fried foods. I usually eat fruit, veggies, dairy products, chicken, fish...yep.

Hi there-
I am an esthetician for the past 14 years. You have to use a product that has Alpha Hydroxy Acid in it to wash and Beta Hydroxy Acid to tone with. The purpose of a toner is to normalize the skin after cleansing. AHA's (alpha Hydroxy acid) remove the layers of dead skin that builds up over time.
If you are not to proud I would suggest going to your local dermatologist or plastic surgery office and ask if they offer peels. You should have a salycilic (betahydroxy) acid peel once a month and after two or three treatments you will begin to notice a change. Ask them what products they have and what you can use at home to help with process, good home care is crucial. A blackhead is an open comodone (pore) that the bacteria in it has oxidized, and a white head is a closed comodone (pore). Goto obagi.com they have great products you can use to help fight your battle. You can do a find for a doctor in your area that has Obagi. You will either see a nurse or an esthetician in the office to do these txs. Good luck
If yiu have anymore questions I will be happy to talk. sornsonheather@yahoo.com
P.S. Don't try to remove to much oil, your face will make more to over compinsate for the loss.

One remedy I've found that truly gets rid of blackheads is Differin Gel. Differin is a topical medication available by prescription from your dermatologist. Used once daily, it helps lessen oil production, keeps breakouts at bay and gets rid of those horrid little black spots. Consult your doctor to see if you're a candidate for Differin, or another prescription treatment option.

If a prescription isn't an option for you, the next best thing is daily use of beta hydroxy acid, better known as salicylic acid. It can penetrate the pores better than an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), which only works on the surface cells of your skin, to loosen the pore-clogging oil and dead skin cells that create blackheads. One of my favorite effective and inexpensive salicylic acid products is Paula's Choice 1% BHA Solution (paulaschoice.com). This light lotion can be used all over your face or just on the trouble spots, and it's fairly gentle so you can use it every day (just once a day, though). For more stubborn blackheads they also offer a 2% solution in liquid form that I find works great on regular pimples as well. You can dab it on with a cotton pad or swab and the blemishes clear up within just a day or so.

I wud recommend u to go and make an appointment wid ure beautician.Basically u need to go for a facial once every month.U may be using products & doing everythin right on a daily basis but u might be using the wrong products. Also the benefits u get when u visit a beautician is, they understand ur skin more than u do.During facial, they also help " clean" ur face properly ie :steamin ur face, removin dead skin cells, even takin out ur blackheads/whiteheads.Its good to do it once a month coz they help " unblock" all the dirt etc from ur pores. So make an appt wid ur beautician, then ask them if d products ur using is actually doin u good instead of doin more damage.Ur blackheads comin back cud be from ur moisturizer? perhaps its too oily for ur face.Do it ureself, blackhead peels that they sell off the counters might do the job but its only temporary.Might as well ask the professionals on what products u cud use or if wot ure using is ok.Good Luck!

What you are doing is good and I'm not sure why your blackheads keep coming back.
One product that worked really well for me (I used to have blackheads all over my nose and don't anymore) is Clean and Clear Blackhead scrub. Maybe you might want to look into it...
Hope I helped!

Try not to eat fried or unhealthy foods so much, and go to the doctor! He might give you some type of special cream. Also, do you wash your face with soap, or some special cream espeicially used for getting rid of blackheads? They can really help!

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

You see the blackheads alomost immediately because as the facial oils fill your pores and come to the surface, they oxidize and turn black. Anyway, an awesome skincare line is Paula's Choice. You will find everything there is to know about skin on this site and find products that work.

After going through your daily rituals of face washing you need to add one more step....get a pore reducer (Avon has a good pore reducer mask). As the pores reduce in size they can no longer fill up with oils and turn into blackheads.

raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, cost is $5 a bottle, find it at the health food store, or in some super markets..
to open the pores and loosen dirt and grease from your face turn off the heat from a pan of distilled water, add 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of the hot water. drape a towel over the pan and your head to steam clean your pores. take a cotton ball, dip in vinegar and pat over skin to remove loosened dirt. repeat 2 more times.gently squeeze the blackheads. then spray or dab on chilled vinegar and equal part of distilled water to close your pores and tone your skin. do twice weekly, also can use the chilled vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily.
it is amazing ....

Hi,
I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.

In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.
