Are a girl and a boy, who are unrelated, allowed to walk together in the streets? How about if they were cousins?
Are people allowed to hold hands? And if they are married?
Does all this apply to restaurants, that are somewhat considered private?
If i am a woman, and i would like to go to Saudi Arabia, can i go to Saudi Arabia by myself on the plane? (my uncle will pick me up at the airport) Does he have to prove that he is my uncle?

If you are not related or married you are not allowed to even be near each other. Cousins marry each other in Saudi Arabia, sick but true, so you won’t be allowed to walk with him either. But you can do all these things secretly... I do it all the time, my boyfriend is Saudi... just if they catch you, you're in trouble. If you are a woman and you want to go to Saudi Arabia you have to get sponsored by somebody i.e. your father and that person will have to come and pick you up from the airport, because sometimes they ask for the iqama number... AND DONT FORGET YOUR ABAYA!!!

that's a lot of Q at once, here are some answers I know a few Arabs personally, but no one from Saudi Arabia. most Arabs from countries that are more liberal (all the other Arab countries) use Saudi Arabia when making an example of an extreme so most of this is heresy. although boy and girl are allowed to walk the streets together, the Saudi kingdom is a very conservative society so this would generally be frowned upon, now if this is some kind of courtship then the females family members are present to chaperon (similar to the godfather when Michael goes to Italy) cousins are allowed to marry there so that would not make a difference. the spouses generally walk behind their husbands so I'm not sure about the holding hands but I would assume it's not something that's socially acceptable, however in private Arab homes are more like any other. not sure about the uncle at the airport but I do know your head will have to be covered once you arrive there.

My husband is currently in Saudi Arabia and asked some of the people over there. I had the same question about hand holding. If your married, you can, but they "frown" on it. You can go by yourself by your uncle needs to send you an abaya to change on your stop (probably in germany if flying from us) to Saudi. Hope I was helpful!

- a girl & guy who arent related can't walk together, not even talk !

- if the weren't related as (brother, sister, mom, dad) they can't walk 2gether !

- holding hands is for married couples !

- & ofcorse u dont need to prove that he's ur uncle !!

This applies everywhere ! what u should know is that the dress code is very important, women from anywhere in the world should be wearing the long black cover (abaya)

Have fun over there !
