How young are you? I can tell by the way you keep repeating, I DON'T WANT HIM BACK IN MY LIFE that you must be in the younger teen years or your Dad must have done something pretty horrific to have you so sure, no matter what your age. If he has done something abusive, then go to somebody who can help you to go to the courts to get a restraining order. However, if it is that he left for some personal reasons etc, I would go to a counselor with somebody and get talking, life is too short to just give up on an imporant relationship. You'll understand why more in years to come.

Then you need to tell him how you feel, and tell him you need some time and some space. Maybe you'll feel differently later on, maybe you won't. I think it's a good sign if he wants to be a part of your life, but on the other hand, you have good reason for feeling the way you do. If you dont' tell him something, he won't stop trying.

My first question is why did your father went 7 months with no contact?
My second question is what did he told you to explian why he wants to come back in your life?
My third & last questions is why don't you want to have him back in your life?
You know, sometimes you take a break to clean your head.... maybe he realize that you were the most important person in his life....

You are at peace with yourself, when you are at peace with your world. Pray for your dad to have the same things you want for yourself and get the resentment out of your heart.
Set boundaries against abusive behavior but be willing to forgive behaviors that are not illegal or abusive.
Try listening to Wayne Dyer's "Real Magic" CD available at most bookstores.

Be firm with him and tell him you are not ready to have him in your life again. Tell him if he really loves you he will wait until you contact him. Then , until you are ready, don't ackowledge any of his atttempts to see you or contact you.

do what your heart tells you. if you dont want him then make it real clear to him. but if you're just saying that to make someone else like ur mom/guardian happy then ur not dong u or him any favours.
