People always say that Jesus was a Jew as if that describes his racial makeup. There are Jews of every nationality. How has a belief system of a group of people turned into a race. Judea was a city - not a nationality. I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma - That makes me a Tulsan, or Oklahoman or an American- but that has nothing to do with my race. So why are Jews seen as a race???

Everyone in that ethnic and linguistic group are not Jews. Jews are not the only group of people who spoke Hebrew.

Mohamed was in the line of Ishmial and Jesus was in the line of Jacob. Both from Abraham. They are cousins - yet I have never ever herd anyone call Mohamed a Jew. Plus I have not heard someone say they are Jewish if they did not follow the belief system. Show me where I can read about some Jews who do not follow the Jewish faith and I will be humbled!!!

Judaism is a religion. Jews are not a race of people but a nation of people who live in many parts of the world (German, American, South American, British, etc.)

Race describes genetic traits and characteristics of the Black, White, Indian and Asian races.

A nation is a historically developed community under one government with distinctive culture, language and economic life

Judaism is both a religion and a race. It's a culture and a religion. Some can be a Jews by herritage, by religion, or both. Jesus was Jewish both by herritage and by religion. It DOES describe his racial makeup. If you look up genetics, there are features that are associated with Jews.

They are an ethnic and linguistic group. Race is a vague concept.

It can be used to describe skin color or some particular of a persons appearance. But i don't see it used in scientific discourse.
