I have heard bacon (pork) will make a dog sick. Is this true?

The excess salt, and the nitrates in preserved meats can make a dog ill. However, a piece of bacon is not apt to harm a dog unless it is all or part Chihuahua...The nitrates are super dangerous for Chihuahuas.
Lean Pork as a whole, is not harmful for a dog.

No. There's even bacon in some dog food. Pork is what dog's like anyway. Don't worry, he won't get sick.

No it won't hurt your dog we give bacon & pork to our dogs they never get sick and we put bacon grease on their dog food so they will eat it.

My dog loves bacon i give it to him when we eat it. No pork won't make your dog sick the vet will tell you to put bacon grease on your dogs food it helps their coats and the taste of the food .Not to much though To much of anything will make anything sick. Good luck.

I've eaten twelve pieces of bacon in one sitting... The worst it'll do is give the dog the runs from all the fat sliding through his guts (fat is really good at that). But he'll probably just have loose stool and an upset stomach. Its just meat and fat. Not gonna kill him.
