It's called polydactaly, and it's a not-uncommon genetic defect. Easily corrected as well.

six fingers on one hand is actually a dominant gene...but it has been largely bred out of modern society....i think it would mean at least one of your parents or relatives had six fingers as well. They are usually removed early in childhood....
