I'm planning to cook Beef Ribs on the Grill Tonight for dinner, and i was wondering what is the best way to prepare them...Should they be boiled first?? I've heard this is best to create really tender ribs. Has anyone tried this? Also i'm wondering what are some good side dishes to make with BBQ ribs....

I would boil them first. As for side dishes, slaw and baked beans always go good with BBQ. Fries too. Don't forget the garlic toast!

I always heard that about boiling ribs too, so one day I tried it, and I didn't care for it that much. The best way to cook ribs I've found is in the slow cooker on low about 6 - 7 hours. They come out really tender and good.

I usually make pork ribs. I don't know if the beef ribs would come out the same, but i think it would.
What I do is to make the coke ribs recipe.
You let them soak in coke, not cola or Pepsi, must be coke. (I usually soak them overnight, or most of the day).
then I bake them, then the last 15 minutes i put them on the grill and baste them with BBQ sauce.
They come out so tender and tasty.
Go to foodnetwork.com and type in ribs and look for the coke rib recipe, they may also call it cola ribs.
side dishes could be potato salad, corn on the cob, cole slaw, baked beans.

if you are using a propane grill. i would boil my ribs till tender then finish with bbq sauce on the grill; saves on gas. if your are using charcoal or a smoker i would not boil them. i would cook them like the bbq joints do slow and easy. as for a side dish... try cowboy beans.. almost like baked beans but a little diff. 2 cans of pork and beans, sauteed onions and green peppers, cooked ground beef drained and crumbled, 1/4 cup bbq sauce and 1/2 cup ketchup. salt and pepper to taste. pour into dish bake a 350 for thirty minutes.

Par boiling the ribs does make them tender and they dont take as long to cook. Sometime, try smoking them. I assume you are using a gas grill. Turn off one side, make a foil pouch full of wet and dry wood chips, (applewood, cedar, maple) put them on the hot side of the grill on the bottom. Put your ribs on the other side, close lid. Cook them on a low temp for 5-6 hours. Keep basting them with your favorite sauce. They turn out amazing and fall apart in your hands.

don't boil them it will just make the meat fibers tighten up. I poach my rib until they are tender then either put them on the grill or under the broiler.
