I am very skinny...often called anorexic by my friends-(I'm not, I just have a small appetite) But I am not fit AT ALL. I am the only one at gym class who can not do a single push-up and it it's embarrassing. I am probably the only kid who would rather be in geometry or reading about world history than be in phs, ed. class. I try to go to the gym with my mom but I hate it. I hate running on the treadmill, crunches, weights, everything.I want to get fit though and become stronger but exercising is such a chore for me. Because I hate it so much, I slack off whenever I go to the gym and I CAN"T give it my all. I have often heard that if you don't exercise, you can pack on more pounds but I make up for it by not eating much. I am not packing on pounds but I know that I am not fit, toned, and have no muscle on by bones. What can I do to get fit? Is there any other way? I need alternatives. Don't say that there is no other way except exercising. FYI-I don't need to lose weight, just get fit

Yoga and Pilates are not strenuous and they get you fit. Ballet class is fun.
Also check out http://www.zoneliving.com/ That will give you more energy. Within that framework, eat more healthy fats, including avocado, almonds, and walnuts.

Sorry to say but the key way to get fit is to exercise even if you are skinny. Why don't you try group classess like kickboxing, boxing, spinning, or dance classess. Look into your gym's class schedules . Vary your routine. You don't always have to be in a gym to get fit. Find an activity that you like and do that for a couple of days then try something else. Fitness magazine recommends having an exercise jar and you fill with pieces of paper containing different activities that you wrote. After that you randomly pick a paper and do the activity on there.

You are probably too skinny and so you don't have nough muscle to do the exercises. Just eat more (healthy stuff, veg, fruit, cereals, pasta and protein, but also some fat, like cheese etc), and exercise. that's the only way, really. Instead of going to the gym, which is indeed boring nd tedious, you can start dance lessons, they are exciting, artistic, and shape a beautiful body.

The best way I know of to get fit is to go to a professional tailor. It can get a little expensive, but you will feel better about yo' self. I guarantee it.
