My husband found a pigeon egg in an old barn once. With no Mother bird around he kept it warm and brought it home. We had four white doves at the time and we put the egg with them. They incubated the egg and one day out pops a baby pigeon. It was very ugly and big compared to the doves. It took all four doves to be able to feed this bird. It was kind of overwhelming for them but the pigeon grew well.

you may in basic terms go away it on my own. you will understand, as quickly because it hatches, if it does, which you will no longer have the means to maintain up with the feeding of the poultry. Pigeons are hap threat messy issues, and that they are scattered previous evaluate. the actuality that it laid a solitary egg on you sill isn't fantastic, and that it is not comming back in basic terms means it got here upon a extra effectual place, or it died or something. there are maximum of pigeons, you may no longer difficulty approximately this one egg that would under no circumstances hatch. yet i understand the type you sense approximately it. If I have been you, i does not touch the nest/egg to lots, if in any respect, because of the horrific and abounding parasites, mites, and germs pigeons shop on their thickly feathered bodies. They do consume carion, and basically something they might locate, and God knows what nasty issues they're going to locate on a highway..... My suggestion is in basic terms go away the nest the place it particularly is. it may be the mummy is comming back, you in user-friendly terms have not seen it. Durring those warmer years, I genuinely have observed that parrents have not had to sit down down on their eggs as lots, extraordinarily at the instant of three hundred and sixty 5 days. whether, the egg won't hatch if the humidity is in basic terms too low, that stands out as the case, in case you do no longer stay in a moist section. laid only one egg in the nest and not come back, is in a territorial deffence. some birds try this, the place they go around laying random eggs in nests, so as that different birds think of that the section is already occupied. this may be the rationalization. eliminate the nest (and egg if necesary) after breeding season is over (September/october). ANd bear in concepts, if the egg hatches, go away IT on my own! that is extra effectual for the poultry to die in nature than to die becaus you tried to feed it and that failed. Plus, pigeons feed their yong a milk this is stored of their throat, and you will under no circumstances have the means to reproduce that.

Slip the new eggs into the nest after dark and try not to spook the one on the nest in the process. Pigeons and Doves, like chickens, can't count.. Lucky us.

Actually, if you put the eggs with your pet pigeons it'll probably work, they'll probably care for the eggs as if they were their own.

I'd say go for it! Hope all goes well for you!

How sure are you that she is not looking after her eggs? If they have been there too long without being sat on, they are probably no longer viable at this point.

alot of bird species will not take care of the eggs or their young at all if human smell is on them .. its hard to say that if you move the eggs that the birds would care for them .. you could try it , if you wear clothes or other such thing to hide your scent .
