Keep Radio or TV on while you are out. Go out for short time and make it longer each time.

Leave the tv or radio on, leave out a piece of your clothing that he can smell and find comfort from. Provide a bone or toy, as you tried doing, it may work the next time. Take short trips away from the house, gradually increasing the time, until the dog feels comfortable at your absences, he may feel you aren't going to return if he has been left alone before for super long periods.

Get some pet calming chewables\pills which are available at the regular pet stores. Most of them take anywhere from a half an hour to an hour to work, so check the different brands and labels. I have had the best luck with one called Kalm and Gentle. It only takes 30 min to work, and is in a chewable tab which is easier to give to the dog. I posted a link below of a pic of it. Hope this helps! :)

Try leaving the tv on for the dog so that way the dog will hear voices when you leave because it works with birds to play music for them and i do that with my dog

There are a few things you can do like giving him a ball with holes in and squirt a treat in and that will keep him busy, give him a toy or omething that he can do on his own or put a mirrior in the room with him and he will think that it is another dog in a different room

I had this problem with my dog - pitbull/lab mix. We started kennel training him. He was already 2, but adapted to it well. He goes in the kennel everytime we leave the house. It gives them a sens of security.

It's not seperation anxiety, that's a human term. He just wants you around. Dogs know that if they make noise, someone will give them attention.
