I,d like to think that in that situation i would be happy to be considered as an individual, rather than the average sheep that makes up any particular judgmental group

If you are "not right in the head", God love them for caring enough about you to address it. Why not have an open dialogue with them about their concerns. If you possibly are experiencing any sort of mental health issue, there is all kinds of help and treatment available. Don't take it the wrong way - by them talking about it, they at least care.

Wow.... this never happened to me, but if I was in this person's shoes I would think really hard about myself, then determine if there's a truth to what they said.... then I would confront them and tell them what I overheard them say and either thank them for opening my eyes or I'd give them my piece of mind.... I don't know you, so I don't know if if you are right in the head or not.

I'd take advantage of it and every time they made a mistake I'd ask them what's wrong with them, are they not right in the head??? Then I'd go off by myself somewhere and bust up laughing.
