It's a venial sin, I'm sure our Loving Father won't condem
you to Hell for a cheeseburger..

But wait if you're age 59 I think you can eat all the burgers you want...

What do you mean by cave? I know the whole idea of not eating meat on Fridays during Lent probably sounds really stupid to those who don't know about it, but we do it as a sacrifice. If you "caved" and had one, I wouldn't consider it a sin. Just do your best next Friday, and try going to your parish Fish Fry. Those are fun, and you still get protein without the meat, since fish aren't considered meat.

It all depends on your attitude.

If you just cave in to your cravings and have a cheeseburger, then it is not a sin. it is a sign of weakness, but not a sin.

On the other hand, if you decide that you don't care what the Church tells you to do and you have a cheeseburger in defiance of the catholic Church rules, then you have committed a sin.

Jesus Christ established the catholic Church and gave us priests, bishops, and a pope to guide and lead us. When we openly disobey the church, we disobey Christ, who left us the Church. That disobedience is a sin.

During lent, Catholics don't eat meat on Friday, but that is up to you! I can think of worse sins!

That tradition is man-made, not God's Word; according to the Bible.

Eat your cheeseburger and don't worry about it. God is not going to punish someone for eating meat on or during Lent. Take a look in the Bible, to see what the Commandments; which God Himself said are sins.

Jesus said that what we eat doesn't make us unclean, that is, causes us to sin; but what comes out of our mouth often makes us unclean.
"Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man ‘unclean.’ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
These are what make a man ‘unclean’; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him ‘unclean.’"

The apostle Paul adds another challenge to the matter of eating:

1. Cor.10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

I don't know where it says in the bible that you cannot eat meat on friday.... I don't think we were ever really meant to eat meat but I don't see where it is forbidden.

Yes. If you do so knowingly, it is disobedience and pride. Those are both sins. The sin is not "eating the burger" - it's the pride ("I know better than God and His Church") that caused it.

Yes, you're not supposed to have meat on Fridays if you're Catholic.

And who shall call them a sinner?
Will it be the Catholic Church?
Will it be a Christian?
Will it be an atheist?

Will it not be the person themselves? For they have done what they themselves think is wrong.
