im an sksn on a carrier and my rate is overmanned and 2 others fom my rate have gone and come back from iraq. so why wont they let me serve my country on the battlefield if they need fresh troops so bad?

My friend's husband is in the Navy, too. He volunteered to go to Iraq for 8 months and they told him they didn't need him. It's kind of frustrating to hear that when my husband (active duty Army) is getting ready to spend his THIRD year there. I mean I'm sure your job is very different from my husband's so you couldn't exactly take his place but geez, if someone volunteers, let them go!

i wonder why they arent using the 100 thousand ex iraqi army members they disbanded. Sure they werent much compared to us, but come on, they are probably at least as well trained as weekend warriors, (no offense) and are a lot more concerned with the problems over there as it is their country, with decent leadership they could surely guard a convoy. As to why they wouldnt take you, well, maybe you are overqualified, you know how the military mind works.

Ask your command why your request was turned down. They may have a good reason. They don't just ship targets over there. They send the best of the best.

You would have to be a Stupid fool to enlist!! why put your life on the line for those crazy pepole they do not care about You!! I heard they do not want us over there in the first Place!!
