You have just asked the question of the hour
---one that the anti-smoking fanatics do not want to answer--
they have built such a heavy case for their "total ban" bull
around the second-hand doo daa that coming up with data on the addictive end of THAT is one they Can Not answer with any truth at all !! Does anyone at all believe-- that if they actually Had anything on this subject-- they would have not only USED it but more than likely would have built another one of their multi-million dollar tear jerking hyper sensitive brain-washing promo's around it and played it on every channel God ever allowed to broadcast until we were all so sick of it we could literally die from IT !!!
Is there any wonder why the anti-smoking groups have had the success that they have-after cigarette companies being BANNED from advertising in any manner at all--- while these groups have had FULL use of the media brain-laundry and unlimited cash from tax deductible grant monies for decades now !!!

Who says it isn't addictive? Nicotine is an addictive chemical and passive smoke contains Nicotine. It may be that you aren't getting enough of it by passive smoke to cause the addiction. It could also be that you are exposing yourself to passive smoke consistently enough that you are fulfilling the addiction and thus you aren't feeling the withdrawal. The real harm of passive smoke is not the exposure to Nicotine but the exposure to the tar in the smoke that isn't getting filtered like it does when you smoke a filtered cigarette.

If passive smoke is harmful, it's reasonable that it's addictive too.

You have to take a cigarette to feel the real effect. I smoke, but I don't like it when sometimes smokes next to me. But if I am smoking and he is smoking next to me I dont mind. Most people don't like cigarettes at first, but after taking about 20-50 they start to like them. They make you feel happy and relaxed more than you used to. But if you stop, they will make you much more nervous than before you started. I didn't really understand the question, so maybe this is not the right answer, but these are the effects of smoking (on me).

The addictive part of smoking is the nicotine. Cigarette smoke is toxic and carcinogenic, it also has in it significant amounts of nicotine. In theory at least passive smoking might well be addictive, and individuals might suffer low level withdrawal if their contact with it were removed.

its the action of smoking as well, like lighting up and holding the cigarettes. you know when you are smoking when you are a smoker, but when do you know when your taking in passive smoke? Also people trying to stop smoking can get a cigarette shaped tube so that they have the same feel in their hands but helps to stop smoking.

The problem is - according to the recent adverts, that it's just as dangerous as "real" smoking, even if it isn't actually addictive.

Probably because you are being exposed to the biproduct of the addictive chemicals she is inhaling herself. Since you are not inhaling the real thing you are fortunate enough to be disgusted by it while those of us who do smoke depend on it.
