Why dont dog owners bother to pick up the mess that their four legged friends leave on the pavement?
I feel that this is a disgrace and reflects badly on dog owners.

I live in a covenant community and that's one of the rules, gotta pick up after your dog but some people apparently think the rules don't apply to them. Every time we walk by the back stretch of the golf course my dog has to stop and sniff the assorted poos left by inconsiderate dog owners. One guy actually stands there and looks the opposite direction, as though if he doesn't see his dog taking a crap it didn't happen. I don't know where he lives or else I'd turn him in. I'm pretty lucky because my dog doesn't like to do her business anywhere but her own yard but I always take a baggie along just in case.
Now on the other side (I'm not going to waste 5 pts asking this) why do cat owners let their cats roam the neighborhood? I'm tired of not only the cat poop in my yard but cats walking all over my car and killing baby rabbits & birds.

How right you are. We live in a very small village where loads of people own dogs. There is a recreation ground approx' 10 min's walk away, but the problem is that the dogs tend to poo before they get there. The more responsible owners clean up but the others leave it, unless you spot them and give them a bag to scoop it into. One man takes his dog out at 5.55am every day and lets his dog pee on my steps. It is driving me nuts but my husband won't let me say anything to him. There is a little alleyway in the village that has been nicknamed 'poo
passage', you can guess why.

SOME dog owners don't pick up after their dogs in exactly the same way as SOME people don't put their litter in litter bins.
Too lazy and too selfish to be bothered!
Yes it does reflect badly on dog owners in the same way that our rubbish strewn streets reflect badly on people in general.

I am a dog owner and I think its disgusting when people leave the mess everywhere. There are plenty of dog bins available nowadays....all you need to do is put a couple of bags into your pocket on your way out.
People who do this shed a bad light on those of us who don't want to walk around in a doglitter tray.

Some of us do! I make a point of saying I do this when at the park so that our lovey little girl isn't blamed for someone else's poo! I also scoop our yard. It is called being a respectful dog owner. I tell my toddler that we clean up after Katie pottys. Hopefully he will take care of his dogs when he is older. Like all things, some people follow good common sense and others could care less:)

hi now this is a serouise issue.There are special sented bags for picking their dogs mess up after all we are there to look after protected and yes even clean up after them.Just imagine if you was out side with your children and ur kids where playing in dog mess if the child puts his/her hand in the poo then rubs their eyes belive it or not that child can go blind all beacuse the owner didnt pick up the mess.

It's not only disrespectful to the local community, but leaving your dog's droppings on public land violates the law in most communities. You can receive a summons for littering.
If it's your hometown, keep it clean ... you live there.
If you don't live there, pick up after yourself as you are only a guest.

That's kind of like -Why do people leave their theater seat trashed...their popcorn bucket spilled all over the floor and the seat, their drink still in the cupholder?? You wouldn't leave a freind's house that way, or your own house. (Sadly though, some probably would).
Some people are just not raised right. Simple.

I have 2 dogs we do pick up all the mess they leave lying around but now around our area they have bags and bins available on the beach incase you forget to take one
