My 2nd daughter is 28 mths now. Although there is a slight improvement after i enrol her in playgroup but i am still very worried. She can now willing to open her mouth to talk, but her pronounciation is not clear. We encouraged her even she said out the words not clear. By this age at least she should able to say more but she only able to say very few words. I might say she is very smart as I can see her action and her understanding is better than her sister. The only problem is her speech. I keep wondering is it still possible to wait till she reach three then i bring her to see therapy or must i bring her to see immediately. Please advice.

You should call the local school district and ask where to go for services for a child her age. Some districts provide the service themselves, but either way they will know who is in charge of Early Start services. These are free services for children birth- age 3 who have any sort of developmental delay.

oh no there is no need to do it immidiately-i would wait until she is 3-4 then if shes still having trouble i would seek speech therapy...when the time comes call around the local preschools-they usually have speech therapist as well as your local physical therapy clinic...they usually have them too. And whenever your child starts preschool or kindergarten you can have her evaluated. If they determine that she needs speech therapy-they will provide it at school probably twice a week for like 30 minutes.

My niece just turned 4 last November, and she was having the same problems. Once my sister took her to a new pediatrician, they found out she was having trouble with her ears. They put tubes in her ears to help with drainage, and now she can hear. Plus, it has improved her speech. Problem was, she couldn't hear well enough to enunciate properly. Now she can! We are all thrilled!

Occupational therapy is for coordination alongside your physique because of the fact it suffered severe injuries of any form and speech therapy is with a professional that assessments out the measurement of your issues once you reproduce words. She could use writing and listening for babies and apparently they may be efficient to adults with accents or who're careless to specific quantity with pronunciation.
