Ask your mother directly what you would need to do to convince her you are mature. Only she knows the answer to that question. If she does not know the answer off the top of her head, ask her to please think about it and give you a thoughtful answer for guidance (a mature mother should be able to do that).

If you really like someone, try to explain that to your parents and maybe they will understand. But don't act like you just want to date for the fun of it. That's what most guys want and that's why people think they are so immature. But they don't understand that until they grow up and realize how stupid they were. Not everyone is like that though. You just need to understand that dating is not a game. You should only date if you really like the person.
I have an 11 year old brother who really likes this girl, so he keeps hanging out with her, and sometimes they watch movies together but that's all they do. For them it's a date because they are too young for anything else, just like they are too young in order to truly love each other.

You have to prove you are responsible. A lot of kids (and adults for that matter) don't realize that responsibility breeds maturity. The more responsibilities you can aptly handle, the more mature you can become. If you expect your guardians to gauge your maturity on your age, you are SADLY mistaken. At your age, you education is your only TRUE responsibility. How are your grades? Are you failing? Cutting school? These things show your level of maturity. If you cant show your parents that you can stay OK in school, they'll be increasing apprehensive about letting you do ANYTHING out of school.

How old are you, if you are under the age of 17 yo I would say wait too. Trying to date at younger age distracts your from important things like school, activities and other things that young people should concentrate on. Trust me please, you have you whole life to date. You are not missing out on a whole lot. Try to listen to your mother, she loves you and wouldn't steer you down the wrong path.

It depends on your age. If you are younger that 16, you will not win that battle.. It you are 16, the you should do things around the house and prove to you mother that you are maturing as a young adult.
