Believers should always be questioning their faith, searching the scriptures and reading other texts to prove that what they are being told and what they believe is true.
I feel a sense of dismay over the obvious lack of deeper learning that is evident by many of the responses. Most seem to want to just fire off whatever pops into their heads, streams of consciousness, etc., with no evidence of reasoned arguments, proper hermeneutics, and cogent synthesis of the issues. Some of the questions and answers are often shallow or just used for point-accumulation.
Unfortunately, many very good Christians have not spent enough time trying to learn and understand the theologies of the faith. Many also lack formal training in biblical hermeneutics, so they may misunderstand the full meanings of the texts they frequently quote.
Please do not misunderstand me as I am not advocating that everyone get degrees in theology, only that they spend some time studying materials outside the scriptures so that their faith will be solidly grounded.

True - a lot of people don't. And I mean really question their faith. Not just an occasional doubt - or reading a mildly opposing theory. But really digging deep - getting their hands dirty and questioning their religion.
Part of it is laziness - of not really being fully inovlved in the religion to begin with. To research is time consuming, it takes dedication and discipline. Most people don't have that. They want someone else to tell them what to believe - so that they don't have to believe or question.
Part of it is fear. Fear of an unknown, fear of maybe being lead to question and not already knowing the answer. A lot of times people look into aspects of their faith that they already have the answers for. They don't dig deep and try to understand and reconcile those parts they don't have answers for.

I have asked a few people this question and they have said is because they hold faith. They don't want to be told any diffrent then what they have learned and they are happy with not asking. It sounds good to me..
I follow a earth based religion and I have found the more I ask myself or others for that matter the more I learn.

Well, I would hope as we were coming to our faith questions were asked and answered. Also, having them resolved the Holy Spirit comes in to us and with the readings of the Bible and good biblical teaching to keep false doubt away.
But, if some one were to bring up a compelling argument I would hope the believer would question and find solace in the answer.
Personally, no one has brought up such questions to me and I find no need to question the faith I know is true.

Some people don't question their faith because that is how they were raised, they were taught to believe and anything else is wrong. But, some other people desire more and question faith and religion because it's something deep inside them that wants to seek the knowlege not just accept things blindly. I'm a seeker, I question everything.

I don't question my faith since it has been proven to me by God or Jesus in Miracles. I can't hardly get anyone to believe the spiritual warfare that I've gone through with satan OR the miracles that I have literally seen..........such as lights shining out of a cloud. Society , today, is built on the opinion that God NO longer talks to people or gives big miracles but I tell you HE DOES, to those who actively seek him.

Satan questioned Job's faith and made God send trobles over Job to show he shall curse on God.
When people are in trouble some might think''It hapens because I am not faithfull to God, I either don't love the people and help, or believe also in little stupid things...and God bother's because he is right and truth.

Some people that are weak in faith do. For stronger believers, we are preoccupied with Gods ministry and the truly important Q's in life.

But the religious leaders tell us we must take the word of god LITERALLY. And then we are threatened with everlasting hellfire if we don't believe. Is this a loving god, who won't even let us use your own mind? Or are we herded like sheep, by the god- almighty shepard? Just as long as you keep forking over your hard earned cash to the church, synagogue, temple!

People tend to get in their comfort zones because of family, culture or whatever so they never truly question themselves or their beliefs nor do they cultivate their relationship with God and sometimes lose faith.
I try to understand and reevaluate my faith all the time. Its necessary.
