All Glocks do not have an external safety. They have an internal "safety" that prevents the gun from firing if dropped or subjected to a strong force or impact, which is the little "mini trigger" that's on the trigger. However, if you pull the trigger it will fire each and every time. There is no mechanism in a Glock that prevents it from firing if the trigger is pulled.

Like THanson said, the Glock is a point and click type weapon. I prefer the XD 45 by Springfield Armory, it has a palm safety like the 1911 Colts have. It is supposed to reduce the number of incidents involving accidental discharges which happen with Glocks.
Havnig said that, a lot of people like the tactical Tupperware that the Glock company makes.

Glocks do not have external safetys. If you want a gun with an external safety, go for a Smith and Wesson or H&K (if you can afford one). Both produce good guns, the S&W's at reasonable prices.

The only visible external safety is the trigger safety, or as Glock calls it the safe trigger mechnism.

On the trigger only. That's one of the reasons I don't like them. Give me a Colt .45 any day.
