In my opion, I believe native indians (not the navajo but primitive) relate to rain forest in all levels, that is spiritually, materially and mentally. Imagined if you were departed from all that is known to you at the moment and you would find yourself in the pure essence of nature. At first you'll experience some paranoia until your senses
are elevated and you start adapting to the surroundings then you become one with it and depend on it to survive because that's your living instinct and that's all you know. Tropical forests are full of secrets and answers that only someone in a primitive essence and in touch with it are able to tell. You'll have to disown everything true to you today.

depends on which Natives ,many have been converted to Christianity which removes them somewhat from the spiritual side
those who still follow their own culture are very close to Nature ,their religion mainly comes from there
i lived with Mazatecas for a while and they were converted but from our point of view they still have a lot of their soul in the Forrest's ,
they have a second language which is whistling and can have whole conversations ,by just whistling ,there knowledge of plants and medicinal is extensive ,but less than the people who follow the old cultures.
most of their knowledge come from memories of what went on before ,what their grandfathers did but they don't do anymore ,such as the religious hallucinogenics
But the kids can move like ghost through the Forrest's unseen or heard
they have strange games like knocking flowers of a tree by throwing a little stick and they are very accurate bringing manges down with stones
they laugh when they are embarrassed or in pain.
they lie in the river and let the fish clean their bodies
and they get all kinds of food from the forrest a very wide range of ,roots ,flowers ,leaves ,seeds,
little meat ,this was mostly chicken
but all i all even the converted people still live very close to Nature and are totaly dependend on it
