My favourite answer so far is the one about cowboys eating mud, very poignant.
With regards to that veggie down there who said eating meat is worse - go away stop typing and save your energy for chopping cucumbers you weakling.

Mud and clay are actually eaten the name for this is geophagy and is practised by the natives of America, Guyana , Venezuela, Siberia, New Caledonia, Thailand, Indonesia and Sub Saharan Africa, the Romans ate Alica a mixture of coarse grain mixed with a type of earth called creta and there are reports of people in a certain region of Texas eating a particular type of red clay .

I watched a program on TV about people who sell mud pies to eat in open markets down in Haiti.
I think that the effect of eating mud depends on what is in the mud. The Haitian mud pies looked like the mud might have been strained through cheese cloth or something in order to get things out of it.

you are eating worse than that if you eat meat or poultry-its full of fecal matter. Considering how many artificial ingredients, colors, pesticides, artificial flavors, etc are in the standard diet, mud would be a step up

well, why would you do that anyway? ok, so if someone does, nothing should happen unless if a virus or some bad bacteria is in the mudd. but, as long as no bacteria is in it, you should be ok.

a lot of parasytes may be inside you... but a lot of little kids eat mud when are little.... i personally did... i goit sick but for obvious reasons

they get poisoned, its got alot of toxins in it and stuff like silt and clay, not that great to eat
