Almost any breed of dog can be used in agility. One of the most stubborn and hard to train breeds is the Akita yet the Essex dog display team have a male Akita on their team along with a real variety of other breeds. If you haven't ever seen them in action check out their web site.

If you can get to Essex it's worth attending the following show

which is run by the team.

Any fast, agile dog can enter Agility competitions.

Some dog clubs encourage their members to have a go at Agility with their dog whatever the breed because the dogs seem to enjoy it so much. Agility courses can be adapted to suit most breeds big or small, fast or slow.

Yes they are, and they're very good at it. They enjoy it. There were quite a few in this years ABC agility at crufts, one of whom was deaf and absolutely loved it!
