Historically Nike has separated its names based on products. Sasquatch, slingshot irons and so forth and I think its a great idea for one simple reason. I work in golf retail and take the r7s for ex someone calls and they do all the time, in a hurry and ask do you have r7s you have to ask the drivers or the irons. Well wouldnt you know alot of people go uh i dont know. It is quite humorous. So I think that keeping the types of equipment in its own signature names is a better marketing tool.

That would be interesting...While I'm pretty sure that Nike will put out something that rivals the R7 irons, would that still be part of the "Sasquatch" line? The name "Sasquatch" implies a big footprint, which is why it's a perfect name for that huge 460 cc driver. Would Sasquatch irons be ridiculously oversized?

If Nike perceives a marketing advantage to doing this then the answer is yes.....Its all about sales that affect their bottom line. How to capture a bigger piece of the equipment dollars Pie.
