I responding to a man's personals add. He is 39 and I am 41. He send me an automated reponse that the age difference was too great! We seemed to have a lot in common and I thought we were close in age. I noticed though that he is looking for someone 25-37. What is with this guy to think 2 years is too much of an age difference but 14 years younger is not to different.

I don't know what he is thinking? I think he is an idiot that is just crusing for a younger woman? Screw him! You don't need it! Your only 41! Its not like your 71!

3 yrs difference is not a big deal. This guy has it in his mind he needs a younger woman. If you had alot in common at the start of dating it would probably turn out that as the relationship matured he would not be compatible. Count yourself lucky you didn't waste alot of time on a guy that was not going to be really into you.
BTW, some of the best women I have had and known were older than myself. With maturity comes wisdom and experience, two good qualities.

He clearly doesn't want someone older. The stereotype is that women fall apart much earlier than men, so he's afraid that when he's 50, you'll be a mess. meanwhile, the women 14 years younger will only be 36 and still have a chance at being attractive.

The age difference is not too great it is just in the wrong direction. He is obviously looking for a younger woman and just did not want to say so. Ignore him and keep on looking.

When does 2 years make it too great a difference? Oh he wants someone to control I see. Move on your better off without this guy!

No way.
That guys sounds like a typical dog who is having a "mid-life" crisis, and needs someone alot younger to validate him as still being some kinds of a stud.
Don't waste your time with this loser.

Of course that is not a big age difference. This guy probably has his gut spilling over his belt and wants a Jessica Simpson look- alike to find him hot. Be glad you dodged the bullet on this one.

Sounds like he is going through a mid life crisis or something, by looking for someone that much younger. Two years is nothing, there is ten between me and my honey. It is his loss, move on he is too immature.

He sounds like an idiot! And apparently going through a mid life crisis... he wants someone younger to make him look good and feel younger.

There are 13 years between my man and I....so I think it is just fine, there is nothing wrong with a couple of years...who cares, as long as you both find eachother interesting.
