I fell out of the shower the other day and i hurt my toe but i fell on my stomach. My stomach didn't hurt that day but I was told it maybe from that due to the fall. I am not sure if i sprained a rib or if it is my appendex, or gald badder. I know for sure that it is not gas. It feels like a sharp pain in my upper abdomen. Everytime I lay down I try to turn to the side it hurts. It sometimes hurts to lay on my back. I even felt light headed and felt like hot flashes but i feel that was happening because of my blood pressure. If it continues to hurt later I am going to the ER I just want to know everyone's opinion. Thanks.

I doubt it's anything serious if all your having is sharp pain, but the possibilites are endless, use your good judgment, you would know better than anyone else if it needs medical attention.

Sounds like a muscular problem, a sprain, a muscle tear or maybe even a hernia. A hernia is when an internal organ gets trapped in between bands of muscle. When you were falling, your muscles suddenly expanded (you were pushing against something to try and stop yourself, or you suddenly grabbed something). A bit of an internal organ may have slipped in between the bands of muscle, which then suddenly closed up again, trapping it and causing pain. It could also be a rib separation, which feels like a knife going right through you (I know, I had one). If it is a separation, you will feel a strange, hard bump on your chest cavity. Your ribs will be bumpy and there will be a depression, where a rib has separated.

The appendix is located in your lower right quadrant of your abdomen. Pain is usually present in that area when it involves your appendix.

Are you short of breath? Does it hurt to take a deep breath? these would indicate a rib injury.

The ER visit is a must to rule out anything life threatening.

Good luck!

Hmm... could in basic terms be a humdrum virus and could run that is direction. you already know how those issues go - it could be very just about something. in case you're actually not particularly unwell then i might provide it a pair of days formerly going to the wellbeing care provider (without coverage). you already know your physique, so in user-friendly terms you are able to say in case you sense such as you like prompt scientific interest. wish you sense extra effectual quickly.

if it is on your right side it may be your appendix. Left side could be gallbladder. I would go to the ER immediately, I just went thru this with my boyfriend and it was his appendix. They took it out that night. Good luck and hope you feel better
