I let my 7 month old beagle out, didn't know she was in heat, the male got her, is there a way to abort without spaying?

Yes there is a clean out shot that aborts puppies. The vet has to do it though. While you are in the vets you might want to see if the vet can tell you what to look for next time your female is in heat since you said you didnt know. If your female was bred by another beagle why not let her carry the puppies to term and sell them. However if you dont want the puppies and want to breed her in the future then go ahead with the abortion. I know that people will tell you that you are bad for aborting them but those same people will also tell you that you are bad for adding to the unwanted pet population. So you cant win. Do what is best for you and your female. If you are not planning on breeding her the best thing would be to spay her. It will reduce her risk from having problems with certain cancers and you will have no more unwanted litters or problems with delivery on pups (sometimes they can have major complications). If you are planning on breeding her then talk to your vet about what is best for her. She is really too young to have a litter yet anyway. Just talk to the vet and figure out whats best. Good luck and dont get discouraged by what people say. If you abort the pups (if she is even really pregnant) you are saving a litter of puppies from being put up in shelters and then never finding homes or being abandoned and still ending up getting put to sleep. But its your choice. good luck

Actually I think the best thing to do is to abort the puppies but spay her in the process. Why wouldnt you have her spayed? There are 100's of unwanted dogs out there and you don't want to add to the list. If you let her have the puppies how many of them would still be alive in 4 or 5 years? Not many most would get put down at a shelter. I know it may seem cruel but whats worse having 7 or 8 puppies who will die in cages or letting them go now so they will never have to endure that pain.

Yes but the vet has to do it.
I am not sure if it is a procedure or a shot or a series of shots/pills but I have had friends do this and the dog was able to have puppies later.
Why don't you just let her have the puppies? Is it an undesirable male?
If your Beagle is registered and you want to breed and sell puppies,it is said that once a registered dog is bred with an undesirable breed she is ruined for future registered pups. . . check that out with your vet as well if this is your concern.

P.S. Don't let the snide comments you get about being a "puppy killer" get to you.
There's plenty of do gooders out there that would rather see the puppies be born and then once they go on their way there is no telling what will become of them and ALOT of people out there who would let you think they are pet lovers are the very people who lose a dog just go get another, are the very people who will let their dogs breed like crazy and thus our dog/cat overpopulation.
I would rather see an animal be put down humanely verses seeing them splattered on the road or starving to death because of some of these proclaimed "pet lovers".

There is an injectio that can be given by a Vet. It has to be given within 48 hours after the dog has been bred. There are bad side effects from this injection. You should just go ahead and have her spayed so there are no more accidents.

Take the dog to the vet. The method used to abort pups safely depends on how far along she is. Why wouldn't you just get her spayed and have the whole matter done with.

Awww dont abort, let her have the puppies and sell them or give them away to good families. You should have spayed, but since you didn't you could go to the vet but you should just let the dog have the puppies then give them away to good families.

take her to the vet and get her spayed, her uterus is not like a humans it is shaped like a horn and you can't go in and scrape out babies like humans do.
