OOOH I like your question!!!! You're a good daughter. I hope my kids worry about this someday! I always think if one or all of my kids(when they're older) would clean the whole house for me, then give me a gift certificate to the mall or a salon so I can do something for myself and not not have to come home to a mess, that would be perfect for me. If your mom does a lot in the house, she would definitely appreciate that.
If you don't like that idea,, maybe get them a gift certificate to a nice restaurant where they can go out to dinner together. Whatever you do, i'm sure they'll love it b/c it's coming from their daughter.

select a date that works for both parents and declare it "Parent Appreciation Day". On that day do all the things for them, that they normally do for you. Then fix a nice Dinner, set the table (flowers, candles) and present them with a framed certificate you make on your computer, that reflects how you feel about them.
During dinner tell them how you feel.
My son did that for me about 15 yrs ago and I still think about it almost daily.
The thought fullness behind it totally got to me. It costs very little but had a big impact.

Tell them then make a date to take them out to lunch.

Nothing shows love and appreciating like spending time with those you care about. If you plan on spending money for this then after you do lunch tell them you are taking them shopping for a new outfit for each one. Let them pick it out so you know they will wear it.

Parents simply want to hear their children's voices and know that they are happy in life. Spending time with them will be their greatest reward.

TELL them. Not just in passing, but really get in touch with your gratitude and then start talking - giving specific times they helped you and it meant something to you.

Have a video slide show made with pictures of you (and your siblings if you have them) in the developmental phases of your life (baby days, grade school, middle school, hight school, college, weddings etc) , set to music that means something to you and your family. THAT IS A SURE TEAR-JERKING WINNER!!! You can do it yourself if you do photo/slideshow editing, or find a friend or videographer to put it together.

To be told 'love you', means a lot.
And just as I am typing this my daughter has
just come from the park with two daffodils and
a daisy. My heart has just leapt.
We parents de appreciate being acknowledged!!!

Definitely not gifts . I like my kids to come over to spend the day, have a barbeque, just a simple phone call from one of my kids brightens my day. I guess you have to be a parent to understand.

Tell them and show them. Much better than a gift. You are a great daughter/son.
