Rocco Jones ~

Have you ever been hit with a 10 once Reyes or Grant Glove? I have and let me write you, it can be a toe curling experience. At the very first gym I worked out we sparred with Tuf Wear 14 ounce Horse Hair filled gloves. The Padding in these gloves gets matted down and the gloves get disfigured. The new Gloves Reyes and Grant are considered punches gloves and In my opinion, if Rocky hit anyone with these gloves instead of the old ones, the result would be the same.

Thanks for the question Rocco Jones.

neoprene would never be used as a pro fight glove. The Marquis "
Of Queensburry rules call for the best quality and new. . Marciano at 186 pounds today regardless of glove weight would have a very difficult time IMO competing in the modern heavyweight division. Especially with a 68 inch reach.

Good question sir and the answer is yes his punches would be just as effective today. Just look at some old films in slow motion and you can clearly see how much power that Rocky carried in either hand. The punch that he hit Walcott with in their first fight would have crumpled any heavyweight who ever lived without a doubt. Once a scientist took a measurement to determine how much power Rocky had and determined tthat it was like getting hit with a car! His awesome punching power is not only legendary but also very real sir.

Marciano was a very hard hitter. He stopped 43 out of 49 opponents and some of these men were quite a bit bigger than the Rock. I don't think that the gloves would make much (if any) difference. Marciano was relentless and imo would have stopped any of todays active heavyweights.

You could have put pillows on Marciano's hands and it still would have felt like you got kicked in the jaw by a mule. Rocky had a lot of area's that modern heavyweights could have exploited, but he could hit as hard as any of them. I don't think the type of glove would have made that much of a difference at that level. He would have been effective enough.

like him or hate him rocky marciano did what no fighter did before or since he went 49-0-0-42 kos thats a perfect record and a great ko percentage some of the guys he fought may have not been in their primes but they could still fight marciano was a great fighter and would have been a top contender if he had been around in louis or alis prime he should not be underestimated

It's very hard to say, I hate to dis honer him by saying he couldn't cut it today. So I will say this he would still pack a very good punch. But I think since his defense wasn't the best he would have trouble handling some of the punchers in the 70's and 80's. The 90's and beyond heavy weights don't impress me at all.
