I knew of a shepherd/Chihuahua mix. The mother of course was the shepherd. The people who owned the dogs thought it was funny to see her actually lay down for him to mate her. Dumbest looking dogs I ever saw. Now if the mother would have been the Chi then it would have killed her. They don't have too much trouble as long as the female is the bigger of the two. Why would anyone want to make such junk is beyond me.

The practical problem with this is mainly to do with the b**ch. If she has pups by a dog which is a bigger breed she might not be able to give birth naturally as the pups' head might be too big to pass through her pelvis.
It is possible for a male Chihuahua to mate a larger b**ch and it has been done but other than to satisfy idle curiosity I can't really see the point of needing specific details.

Small adult males can mate with greater women. you would be stunned how sensible an intact male could be around an in warmth lady. instinct takes over so they get the interest achieved. or you have a BYB finding to benefit and that they use AI to do the deed. something is available. If everyone seems to be attempting to tug off the "mom replaced right into a chihuahua and pa replaced right into a labrador" then i call BS - no way could a Chi have the potential to hold a Lab's puppies. a minimum of no longer that i've got heard. many of the time i do no longer think a be conscious that persons say approximately their pets. some are easy and particularly surprising people, and you will in many situations tell who those people are - yet others in simple terms pick to gloat and consider out to be "cool" approximately their "dazzling new breed of canines" or what-no longer in spite of wether or no longer they're telling the certainty. And yet others are in simple terms ignorant and have self belief something that the broker of their animal tells them.

only if its a male, if you try breed a female chihauhau with a bigger dog, the pups will be to big for her to carry and it could killl her, on the other hand, if its a male breeding with a bigger dog, cant see there being a problem, providing you have a stepladder for him, ha ha

There would be nothing to stop it breeding with a bigger dog, though there would probably be limits due to physical factors. However the main problem comes, I believe, when the dog is ready to have its puppies - many times they cannot get "out" because they are too large for the birth canal, and a caesarian may be necessary etc. In short, yes it can be done, but it may endanger the dog's life to try it. So please don't!

Yes I've been breeding Chi Bulls. (Chihauhau/Pit Bull).
The pups are on the smaller side with large heads.... but yes it is possible. You'd likely have to inseminate the larger female dog.... Though if you do this.. get the pups fixed.

yes, usually it's a male chihuahua and bigger breed female dog (because they can handle the dog size, if it were the other way around the female could die because the puppies are too big). just look in your local animal shelter, there's tons of mixed breeds everywhere with heritage from all three toy, small, and large breeds.

Yes in America some idiots for some unknown reason mated a male Chihuahua to a female Great Dane.
No idea why but I think it was fairly recently-the last few years.

are you looking to breed a male or female chi with the larger dog because the larger dog can usually do the job with the female chi but it is not in her best interest--a large dog could actually kill her. if you want a male chi to breed with a larger dog they don't generally have the equipment to mate with the larger dog.--you can have them artificially inseminated but also with a female chi the pups will usually be to large for her to pass at birth--and she will require a c-section.
