I recently purchased the Office 2007 program (in CD format) for my desk top. I wish to purchase a laptop soon. Will I be able to use this Office 2007 for my laptop as well?

Check the terms of your license. Somewhere in the package you bought will be a Microsoft license.

Microsoft used to allow Office to be installed on a desktop and a laptop *PROVIDING* they were never both used at once. If this is still true then you can *legally* do this. But I suspect that as Office now registers itself against hardware and validates itself with Microsoft they will not allow this.

If it is no longer true then the only way you can legally do what you want is to buy a second license. You can use the same CD to install it... but you need 2 licenses.

Read the back of your box. It should say how many computers you are licensed for. I purchased Microsoft Office Student and Teacher 2007 this week and the back of mine says I can put it on 3 computers.

Yes, but its actually illegal. Each CD comes with a licence key and meant for only a single install. If you were to be found out for copyright fraud then you will be sent to court and fined. If you do not want to take this risk, then you can download a compatible Office applications known as Open Office from http://TheOpenCD.org - you can open any Microsoft Office files using this.

Actually you ARE allowed to install it onto two computers if you are using standard

--If you are using the pro upgrade you can put it onto 3

---Double checking however, it really depends on the package that you get.
