I am going to go with Kahne in Atlanta in the fall. The best example of driver error possible. His spotter said "on your outside" and he still went up and took out Stremme. Jr in the ShootOut is a close second.
Vickers made a smart long-term move. He would never get out of the shadow of Gordon and Johnson, or even Busch at HMS. He will be the face of Toyota. He is their future. Kind of like Kahne is the #1 Dodge. VIckers will have that security and strength at Toyota eventually. It may take a few years, but it'll get there, and he will reap the rewards then.
As for RYR, that would have been a step back. The only place RYR contends at are plate tracks. And, he had that at HMS. RYR will be back towards the top, but it will take time, and he would never have nearly the backing he will get from Red Bull and Toyota

what i think will be the biggest bonehead move does not come from a driver.it comes from a manufacturer and sponsor.
i will give u 3 guesses of the move i am talking about and the first 2 dont count.here is a hint.
they gave him keys to a toyota and napa is his sponsor.
for the life of me i cant figure out how come toyota and napa would ever sign on with a loser like waltrip.i know his brother owns 2 toyota trucks in that series ad is one of the best drivers ever.but why, why, why would toyota throw away all the money, cars, knowledge on mikey waltrip?i will never understand.
i was allways under the impresssion that when a new manufacturer came to the series the goal was to do good.
maybe they are just using it as an expensive testing session on NOT what to do.because mikey will sure show that to toyota.
now after saying that.......maybe it is not such a bonehead move.

Vickers joining up with Toyota was probably one of the brightest moves made. He is now going to be a plank owner of that team, and the number one star. It was smart on his part to join a new team with a new manufacturer.
Worst move is Dale Jr. staying with DEI without a majority ownership in the company. Due to him staying it just puts him a couple more years back from winning a championship.

it particularly is no longer complicated to foretell the huge one at a restrictor plate race. With in basic terms some laps to pass the drivers are drained and going 200 mph and the only way they are able to bypass is to start nudging out of how. you could seem and tell the automobiles are starting to be to be impatient the way they pass around plenty and initiate getting wiggly. That replaced right into a bonehead pass on Kevin Lepage's area. No different excuse for that distinctive injury.

i agree that it was vickers but i think the big payday he got from red bull made him blind to the reality that it was going to be tuff to do well with a start up team
