From everything I have ever heard and seen most of the corollas of the 90's as well as any other car in the same class were front wheel drive for the most part and that includes the DX. I quickly looked online and found this info from Edmunds: "the 1993 Corolla sedan and wagon moved up a size classification from "subcompact" to "compact" according to the EPA. Sedans were offered in standard, DX and LE trim, while a front-wheel-drive wagon was offered in DX trim only."

RE:
Is a Toyota Corolla RWD or AWD?
Me and my friend have a $20 bet on his car. I say that his 1993 Toyota Corolla DX is rear wheel drive, like all Corollas, but he thinks its all wheel drive. Could someone please help us out, because he wont believe me or any proof I come up with.

Some of the 80's model corrolla's were RWD. The current corolla's are FWD. And I'm not sure about the year range, but I think it was around 94-99 there was an AWD Turbo model available in Europe and Japan. But the 93 is FWD, in America, so Neither of you win.

Ok first question, is it a wagon? what nuber is the 10 digit of the vin? if its a N then it a 92, if so then check the rear axle and check if it has a differential and cv axles. if so then it probably is a awd. '87 was the last year of the rwd corolla which is a AE86 chassis, and 92 was the last year of the AE92 which came in awd.

I'll bet its front wheel drive, I guess I'm 40 bucks richer. I have a question for you. Why would ANYONE bet on wether an old Toyota is rwd or 4wd? I cant thing of a reason unless one of you owns it.
