I was at Albertson's yesterday, and they were selling 2 lb. bags of frozen "on-the-shell" shrimp for $2.99. I bought two of the 3 remaining bags, because it was such a great deal. So now, I have 4 lbs. of frozen shrimp, and now all I need is the perfect recipe(s). Thanks!

Depends on what size shrimp you have.. the smaller shrimp can be used in a corn/shrimp bisque and gumbo. The larger ones can be used on kababs with your fav veggies. My all time favorite simple recipe for shrimp is Island Pan Barbequed Shrimp:

remove heads and shells except for the tail section
marinade in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, thyme and rosemary
add salt and pepper to taste (I also add a bit of cayenne)

marinade for at least an hour

simply add this mixture to a hot skillet and saute until the shrimp turn pinkish in color...as you prob know already..shrimp cook very fast and if you over cook they turn out like shoe leather.

I serve this with some hot buttered French bread and some wild and long grain rice

Black Pepper Prawns

Fry the shrimp/prawns quickly in hot oil. Then take out of the pan. Add some minced garlic, fry in more oil then add the prawns and lots of black pepper and salt to taste. They are excellent done this way.

The first frying helps to get rid of excess water. I only do this with fresh prawns, hope its ok with frozen. Also, you could take the heads off so its easier to eat. Use the heads to make soup stock.

If they are too small for this recipe, make a fried rice and add them. or 'prawn cocktail' mix mayo and ketchup and serve steamed cooled prawns with it. Google for a proper recipe.
