I'm leaving tomorrow at 7am but the problem is that my nephew's new passport which we requested has not arrived although Securemail guaranteed us it will arrive yesterday. Im jus wondering if we can somehow enter france using any other documents. if there is a way around this i'd appreciate if you'd let me know.

If you (and your nephew) are US citizens, then you REALLY need a passport - if you're from the UK or Ireland, you only need a valid ID...no passport.

If you are a European citizen and have photo ID then you may get in, however they may request a passport as a security issue. If you are a non European citizen then you need a valid passport that will be in date for six months after your visit and in some cases a visa is required also.

I assume you are leaving the UK for France...in this case you may find the problem is in leaving this country not in getting into the France and then, of course, getting back in!

You could try checking the situation with the company you are travelling with e.g. P&O or Eurotunnel.
