we wanted the same thing with 5 kids we were worried about education, crime drugs, etc. we decided on Ireland and i have to say it is the best decision we ever made. we live in the west and the schools are great, they all stay until they are eighteen, the crime rate is non existent, beautiful scenery mountains, beaches everywhere. the people are very friendly, and if you start to miss family and Friends you can get a return flight for around £40. i know you said you wanted to live in UK, but i would take a look at Ireland. good luck.

I agree its got to be Yorkshire, particularly North Yorkshire, friendly people, great scenery everything you want really.

Try looking on www.upmystreet.com to find out more info about different areas.

hope you find somewhere nice to live!
