Anyone who says it is a totally unique and unrelated religion doesn't know the history of the belief.
It has it's roots in Judaism and also Zoroastrianism which brought the idea of heaven and hell into the beleif system of religions that accept there is only one God.
Christianity's founder was Jewish, the mother of God is Jewish all its prophets are Jewish so why do Christians say they are better than everyone and only they have the way to God?
Isn't the Jewish prophet Jesus the only why to heaven?

Jeanmarie, I have looked at your list of prophecies relating to Jesus Christ, and have noticed that He did not literally fulfill most (if any) of them. He was not literally a king, He did not literally have sovereignty, Shiloh is meant to be someone who is not of the line of Judah, etc. Is it possible that some of these prophecies are referring to someone who is to come after Jesus? Like Jesus, that person would not literally fulfill prophecies, but symbolically.

In the early history of Christianity, the new recruits from the Roman world came from pagan backgrounds. They were used to certain practices, beliefs and ceremonies which they incorporated into Christianity. It departed from its Jewish roots and became an institutionalized and ritualistic religion.

Christianity is only based on the teachings of Christ or Jesus. He was Jewish and and the son of God brought down to Earth so people could follow his teachings reach salvation. Christians also believe in Moses and Noah's ark and many other Jewish beliefs but, then when Jesus came he taught us how to live morally and get to Heaven and then Christianity was formed after Jesus's death. Jesus told St. Peter to start a Church and then St. Peter became the first Pope of the Roman Catholic Church and started Christianity

Not only Christianism adopted and/or modified other religious beliefs, but Jesus himself used quoted teachings from the Code of Hamurabi, and other doctrines that had nothing to do with the Judaism of his time.

If you examine the Bible closely, you will find that stories such as the Creation (Adam & Eve), Noah's Ark, Moses birth, Daniel and the Lions Den, David and Golliath, etc, are based on non Biblical accounts of other civilizations, older than Judaism and Christianity. Some of those stories have been traced to Egyptian, Babylonian, Greek, Eastern Asiatic, Indian (the Subcontinent, not Native American) cultures.

Christians believe to be right about their beliefs because they have been taught to be that way. They accept what they are told by their religious leaders. Christianity is an impossitive religion, (meaning that their goal is to convince everyone that they are right and we are wrong, and that those who reject it are going to hell).

Muslims do not go door to door preaching, yet Islam is growing fast in the Western Hemisphere. Paganism is not being preached door to door either, and yet, it is also growing very fast.

However, Christianity is enjoying a time of the most rejection mostly because some people are abusing of the believers, and it is already proven by Christian scholars that the Bible does have contradictions and errors, like atheists have pointed out for many years. Recent archeological discoveries (not the so called Jesus tomb) also proved what it has been told for the past 1,700 years, that Primitive Christians worshiped God in many different ways, but Church leaders were saying, "Where are the ancient manuscripts to prove that?"

Several of those ancient primitive Christian manuscripts were found between 1947 and 1989, and Christian leaders have strongly opposed to their translation, and ever since they were translated, deemed the translations as "heretic" only because non religious scholars were the translators. And those non religiously biased scholars have no interest in benefiting any Christian denomination.

Excuse me. Christians do not think they are better than anyone. Christians know they are sinners, in need of a savior.

To answer your question, of course Christianity isn't a mish mash of other beliefs. It is based on the person of Jesus Christ, who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only name under heaven by which anyone will be saved. We believe this because the bible, which Christians believe to be God's word, states that Jesus is the only way to the Father.

One correction: Mary is not the mother of "God". God is spirit, a divine being, with no beginning and no end. Mary was the mother of Jesus. Jesus was God made flesh, yes....but was born as a human being, like any other human being is born.

Mumble grumble question. Christianity is a unique religion and it stands alone except for the Jewish roots. I suggest you look at your own beliefs and decide if atheism based on the teachings of Hitler, Stalin, Marx, etc are nothing more than an amalgamation of disbelief and where is the purity of your thought process to present an argument to question or refute Christianity.
Christ said he was the way, the truth, and the light and no man comes to the father except by him.

I do. What you look speaking approximately is named "Eclectic". Eclectic is relatively a individual who combines fairly some distinctive re-happening concepts/ideals from fairly some differing religions, and yet gets a sparkling cohesive total. the element with eclectic is that the guy won't tournament the finished custom of any of that's separate factors. Ex: i'm a Eclectic Pagan. My particular course follows concepts from a million)Wicca 2)Hellenic/Eleusinian (previous international Greek) and to many human beings's ask your self, 3)Christianity. although, Pagans who combine Christianity with Pagan ideals will usually draw the anger of the two Pagans a Christians because of the fact the two, in total, are unlike minded. extra often than not because of the fact the finished Bible would not mesh nicely with different ideals. i'm going to even admit that. although... the Gospels on my own, and much extra particular, the training of Jesus of Nazareth, on their own, could be blended unquestionably with different paths. yet then this theory usually upsets people who experience the bible should not be separated or altered in any way; people who see the Bible as infallible. I opt to be certain the Bible as a decision of books that have been fortunate sufficient to be picked from a greater team via humanity. (Which, traditionally, they're.) If human beings used their own judgment to place those books at the same time as an entire.... why won't be able to i exploit my own judgment (which I believe extra) take them aside... and in step with threat upload the countless books that were disregarded? the toughest element of being Eclectic is being prepared to think approximately each course, and searching for truths in all of them. considering which you will on no account comprehend what you will discover or the place you will discover it... until you look.

Whoa, slow down. I am perfectly willing to acknowledge that Christianity has its roots in other, older religions. However, as far as Zoroastrianism goes, even though it may be "older" as far as its history, its writings are NOT that old, and the concept of Zoroastrianism is actually similar to just about every other religion throughout history (good vs. evil, for example).
There is one thing that Christianity has that NO other religion has though: The Bible contains people who say, "I saw THIS with my OWN eyes." Even Zoroastrianism (which I haven't studied to the extent that I'd like to, because it's very hard to find books about it) does NOT have that.
I do not believe I'm "better" than everyone. However, I believe that Jesus not only was the Son of God, crucified for OUR sins, but He IS God. Jesus said the only way to the Father was through Him, and I believe it!
It has nothing to do with ME being "better." It has EVERYTHING to do with believing what Jesus said.

Yes, it's progressive, but it is also unique and exclusive.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

God has made a way through Jesus Christ to restore mankind's relationship with Him. He reveals Himself as the one true living God to those who believe. It is not that it is better, it is simply just the only way.

Sadly, you are ignorant. The Christian faith is the fulfillment of the covenant of God with mankind, it has it's beginnings at the dawn of time, and has not changed. All the 'religions' you cite are just that, religions. Might do you well to look up the definition of Religion. Christianity stands unique because it is not a religion, not man created; rather God created to allow man to fellowship with Him.
