how to trace out passport file no which was lost and and no proof of the passport how i can get my passport file no and i went to hydrebad passport office where it got issued by the year 1998 but nothing worked out because as the staff were so busy ,. so any one know how to get passport no kindly tell me plz

You've got to be more persistent. Keep going back to the staff, be very kind and patient, but insistent, until they know you by sight and/or you know them by first name. A faster way might be to just get a new passport, but I presume that's not an option for whatever reason.

Or, maybe you've been swindled, and there never was a file number issued. This is the most likely. Good luck.
