I have just started to look at you tube and some of the clips are good and i want to save them i have looked at some of the progranes that they say will save them and they do save them but when they apear on my desktop i can not open them, how can i save them and watch them in say a windows media player format , also can you then burn them onto dvd-r disk ??

If using Firefox get the video downloader extension. Then while viewing the video click on the video downloader icon and it will save to wherever you select.

The best way is to use TubeHunter to save youtube videos as AVI or MPEG which can be played on Windows Media Player. And then any dvd burner can burn mpeg to disk.

You may have noticed that when you download your files from YouTube they come down as .flv (Flash video) files.
You can use a free player to play these .flv files. See below for links to 3 different ones.
To convert them you can go to the 4th link, where you have to copy the link of the YouTube video into the space. It will then convert the files for you.

Download YouTube videos the easy way:
Either put kiss in front of the youtube.com video URL in the address bar, or go to this site ( http://www.kissyoutube.com/ ) and enter in the full URL there. Result – video on your hard drive.

go to keepvid.com then copy the url of the video you want from youtube to keepvid. follow the download instructions there. it is easy to follow. to be able to watch the videos you need an FLV player http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10505954.html?tag=lst-0-1 then to be able to burn the videos so you can watch your videos to your DVD player you need an flv converter like REPLY CONVERTER http://www.applian.com/replay-converter/index_keepvid.php?src=KeepvidConvert after you converted your video like into WMV format just copy and paste the video to file/video burner like NERO. choose "DVD video files" ok?

try using itube, search it in google, it will download the videos of youube that you want, just put the url into the program and it will download it for you!!!! it will aslo convert it for you in ipod format!!!
